“I’d always been active and really into my sport but after having my two boys I really struggled to get back into regular exercise, particularly netball which I’d always loved. I just couldn’t commit the time regularly to a club sport.
I decided to do something about it so joined my local parkrun group. Not only have I made some great new friends but I also benefit from regular, flexible exercise. Plus we have so much fun that it doesn’t feel like a chore! I’m also now a voluntary parkrun ambassador meaning I get to travel the country, socialising and meeting new people.
In between parkruns I meet up with my other mum-friends to go for short runs…we always stop for a coffee and a gossip at the end which is my reward for being active!”
